Western Railroad Discussion > UP 6361 on Oil empties, Westbound on the KP

Union Pacific AC4400CW 6361 (ex SP 320) is painted or lettered in a one of a kind patch job and this afternoon, it ran Westbound across the KP line heading into Denver leading empty Oil train OOMPW-25 (Ore-Midwest City, OK-Wash, UT). This engine for some reason has the original Southern Pacific Speed lettering on the Engineer's side but over on the Conductor side of the engine, Union Pacific is spelled out across the old SP gray paint! I believe that this is the only ex-SP engine so lettered like this.

1)The 6361 heads across the bridge over East Bijou Creek West of Deer Trail with the Union Pacific lettering visible on the side of the engine.

2)Heading through Strasburg, the 6361 passes through the antique equipment located here that includes the old Pacific Fruit Express NW-2 switcher that worked out of Tucson, some Rio Grande boxcars, a narrow gauge stock car and a pair of red passenger cars behind the train.

3)Pulling out of Watkins.

Excellent chase. It's so nice to see KP stuff knowing how hard it is to get the stars to align out there these days. Makes me a little nostalgic for some of the chases I've had years ago out there.
