Western Railroad Discussion > East bound's at Laramie, WY.Date: 01/29/15 07:03 East bound's at Laramie, WY. Author: waycar_rider My wife and myself made a Laramie, WY trip, Monday, Jan. 26, 2015. She is a photographer, too. This trip was her trip. I wasn't planning shooting any trains. Sandy wanted to shoot some things around Laramie. She has gone with me, when I was taking train photos. I was repaying her this trip, as it was her day. While we were downtown, I went up on the walk way bridge. She came up there later on.
1. First east bound arrived at 203 PM. It was a manifest which was a 3 X 1. It had the 8810-7488-2234 on the head end. The 7746 was the DPU. I couldn't tell if the 2234 was on line. 2. Second east bound arrived at 215 PM. It was a manifest, too. It was set up as a 2 X 2. 8501-7782 on the head end. The DPU was 7401-5212. Sandy even tried taking a shot of the second train. We left Laramie and headed west for some other photography. Gary A. Rich Aurora, CO Date: 01/29/15 07:25 Re: East bound's at Laramie, WY. Author: highgreengraphics Nice sunny views of Laramie's old downtown with the vintage buildings that front the tracks. In a bigger city, you would be trying to shoot through a chain-link fence tunnel over the whole bridge, if they let anybody up there at all. Doublestacks slide under that bridge so close they create a vacuum. If they ever tore down that footbridge, Laramie would not be the same, would it? === === = === JLH

Date: 01/29/15 09:15 Re: East bound's at Laramie, WY. Author: waycar_rider Yes, a very rough winter. It was 60 degrees in Laramie that afternoon. Plus, there wasn't any wind, either. I was up there in December, it was about the same. We spent some time up at Hermosa. I was walking around with a down-vest, no other coats. It was calm that afternoon.
You never know what you will get either at Cheyenne or Laramie. Gary A. Rich Aurora, CO Date: 01/29/15 09:47 Re: East bound's at Laramie, WY. Author: up8810 I have a close relationship with that 8810, I drove her on her maiden revenue leading trip into Denver.
