I like the northern valley, and it has some very nice railroad scenery and operations. How does the stuff on the Redding Turn get to the outside world? Is there a manifest that runs from Redding to Roseville?

~Ryan Date: 01/29/15 18:37 Re: UP9921 sb Redding Turn at Red Bluff, CA Author: SP4436 The Redding turn takes cars that the two Redding locals have gathered and takes them to Roseville where they are then dispatched onto other trains. This happens Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On the return trips north to Redding on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday they bring back cars from Roseville to turn over to the locals.
There was a period in the 90's when the turn was abolished and road freights had to pick up and set out cars in Redding, Anderson, and Red Bank. It seemed this lasted until the merger and then the turn was re established... describe, four axle power, sometimes pretty interesting. Out Date: 01/29/15 18:55 Re: UP9921 sb Redding Turn at Red Bluff, CA Author: portlander Also, the crew is based out of Redding, so the "return" trip would be north!

That statement contradicts itself. The Redding Turn and two locals all have their home terminal in Redding. The extra boards in Dunsmuir are used when needed to fill any vacancies on these Redding based jobs, but that is not the home terminal for the regular crews of these jobs.
