As I have stated before. The Metropolitan Transit System should give the line to the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum Association/San Diego Railway Museum Association or sell or abandon the San Diego & Arizona Eastern Railway and get out of the railroad business once and for all. I as a tax paying citizen of San Diego County have absolutely no confidence nor do I feel that that the Metropolitan Transit System is competent to do any of this in a right legal or non corrupt way. There is no practicality in keeping the San Diego & Arizona Eastern Railway a publicly owned entity.

Isn't the MTS the company(agency) that runs the light rail in San Diego? I have a friend that was the local chairman for the operators and he basically said the same thing you have.

MTS owns the San Diego & Arizona Eastern Railway Company. Upon those tracks in town, MTS owns the San Diego Trolley which operate over the SD&AE, and the SD&IV operates freight in town, with the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum operating excursion trains out of town in Campo as the SD&A. MTS also owns the former Santa Fe tracks from about Del Mar to the Santa Fe Depot in San Diego upon which the NCTD operates Coaster passenger trains, Amtrak run passenger trains and BNSF runs freight trains.

Isn't it true that in fact, the SDNR (Coaster) owns the tracks from north of Oceanside into San Diego at the Santa Fe Depot? I don't think the MTS owns the freight/passenger tracks north of the Santa Fe Depot as previously reported in this thread.

No, MTS owns them up to the Sorrento/Del Mar area... Why? I don't know, but they do...

Per a trusted source who attended the Tuesday SD&AE Board meeting,
PIR was represented by 2 of the "NEW" investors and 1 current representative,
one of the "NEW" investors is a long time crony of the current PIR
ownership and has been part of their charade for years!

The current representative is the guy who started this whole nightmare
in 2007!

"New Names, New Faces = "SAME OLD, SAME OLD!!!
