Of course the "Peavine" from Galesburg to Savanna is not a route I commonly railfan. Nick Tharalson, Marion, IA Date: 01/31/15 09:21 Re: Joslin Illinois local turn Author: callum_out Joslin is the home of a large Tyson Foods beef facility. It's about 1 1/2 miles South of
I-88 on Illinois 92. The Tyson plant gets a daily switch, inbound dry chem for the Hides facility, outbound reefers of boxed beef, and various grades of edible and inedible tallow. The facility is very busy, BNSF runs right across the entrance to the plant and the daily switching generally causes enough havoc to be annoying. We've gone to lunch in the time that the switch requires on a busy day. Out Date: 01/31/15 16:02 Re: Joslin Illinois local turn Author: ns1000 Nice pic!!
