Western Railroad Discussion > Sierra Northern (Sierra RR) This Morning

I "stumbled upon" Sierra Northern RailPower genset #52 in Riverbank this morning. Photo #1 shows them exiting the Industrial Park grounds (ex-Army Ammo Plant), #2 shows them on the ex-Santa Fe ammo plant spur crossing Terminal Ave., and #3 shows them highballing back to Oakdale on the ex-Santa Fe Oakdale Branch.

What time of the morning were you there? Do they run to Riverbank every day?

Photo #1 taken at 08:22, and Photo #2 taken at 08:48. In the past, I have seen them in Riverbank as early as 07:00 and as late as 13:00. I believe that their normal operations have them running between Oakdale and Riverbank on Mon-Wed-Fri, and between Oakdale and Standard on Tue and Thur. I have seen them in Riverbank on both Saturdays and Sundays in the past.....apparently special moves.

Thanks for the info.The time to Riverbank are in line with what I've been told in the past. How often they go is up for speculation.

Going to Standard was Tuesdays and Fridays except during "Propane Season" when they need to take more cars to Hales and Symon in Sonora.
