One more Winter-light Warbonnet on the Pas Local...
Author: PasadenaSub

Yesterday I came across BNSFs westbound Pasadena Local just west of Grand Avenue in Glendora, CA. The fact that it was just a light engine between Pomona and Irwindale really worked for the better, since the trailing unit was nice Santa Fe w/b GP60M #141, still in good paint with no graffiti. This was probably my last chance of the season to catch the local in optimal winter lighting, since the sun angle will start getting much higher throughout this month.

1-3) BNSF 112 leading 141 in Glendora, awaiting clearance to move through the LA Metro Gold Line construction area in Azusa.

4-5) On to the next grade crossing to the west, Barranca Avenue - as the local got moving a few minutes later enroute to Miller Brewing in Irwindale. Leader 112 wasn't in bad shape either.

Thanks for looking,

Rich

Love the shots, there are days when I do feel a bit homesick for the days
I lived in Glendora.

Nice catches and pictures. Got shots of those new at Joilet Ill back in the 90s on 199 I believe. Haven't seen the 60s in Chicagoland for a few years. The locals run with 840Bs with beat up paint.

Fantastic shots! Just curious, where is this area relative to the Gold line?

Thanks for the kind words. The eastern end of the Gold Line's Foothill extension is just past Citrus Avenue in Azusa, just barely beyond view of the last picture. From there, the old Santa Fe jointed rail gives way to the new dedicated freight line to Irwindale alongside the twin mains of the Gold Line.

Thanks Rich for the great coverage of the Pasadena Local here and several days ago.

Love the mountain background in shot #2!

Nice photos Rich, good to see my favorite paint scheme still earning it's keep.
