Cajon Sub MofW Activity
Author: zchcsse

This clip features some Maintenance of Way-related activities from BNSF's Cajon Subdivision this past weekend.

It begins with an eastbound empty UP coal train rolling past the Amtrak depot in downtown Victorville.  During its passing, a BNSF Surfacing Gang can be seen working on a slow order.

Next, the Surfacing Gang is done and the two machines are viewed heading west towards Frost in order to cross over to Main 2.

Next, the two machines are seen in turn as they are loaded onto specialty flatbed trailers for transportation elsewhere.

Lastly, early the following morning, a westbound BNSF MofW train of very specialized equipment is viewed near the Swarthout Canyon road crossing.

Thanks for watching!

i wasn't a fan of the engines right behind the opr cab on the 6700s tampers ... they were loud and the design constricted the cab unlike the Mark VI tampers which had the engines on the front deck made the cab much more quieter and almost double in size ...

when flatbed loading ya gotta power brake the hell out of those machines because ya have to throttle up for the incline but control the movement from the momentum of going off the edge of the trailer ...

C&G Surfacing out of New England would disconnet the front buggies from the tamper for better clearance through the close clearances of urban areas of the eastern states ...

That was a cool video. The last clip looked like a circus train with a load of mechanical elephants.
