Western Railroad Discussion > What? more new GEVOs? I'll be right there.Date: 03/26/15 22:40 What? more new GEVOs? I'll be right there. Author: SD45X The next day, I woke up to this. Great Western shoving around the wye at Johnstown. Quick grab and south I headed for home. Platteville,CO found a local gone to beans.
Calling a buddy to see whats up with the F units headed to Alamosa had me turn around and head back to Cheyenne. He was waiting on another batch of 2500s heading west. Short wait at MP 498 just east of Archer. Date: 03/26/15 22:43 Re: What? more new GEVOs? I'll be right there. Author: SD45X Date: 03/26/15 22:45 Re: What? more new GEVOs? I'll be right there. Author: SD45X Date: 03/26/15 22:49 Re: What? more new GEVOs? I'll be right there. Author: SD45X Hauling butt, I made it to the I-80 overpass to watch the freight leaving on 4 track and a Stack was overtaking him on 3.
Back down to the C&S overpass finds this Salt Lake Z boogie-ing west. And I waited for this eastbound for some dramatic light. Date: 03/26/15 22:56 Re: What? more new GEVOs? I'll be right there. Author: SD45X I pointed my chariot west and pulled the trigger in an attempt to overtake the Z before the overpass at Borie. And ended up smack dab in the middle of some of
the best dispatching I had seen in a while. Remember the stack overtaking the freight leaving town? He got ran up to Speer then over the Borie cutoff to get him out of the way of the Z. And the Z was wrong main, 2. I wondered what was up.\ I kept moving west to Granite and I was becoming clear. He had a freight coming down the mountain(not shown) on main 1. Followed by a rock train leaving the pit at Granite. And another freight stopped to let him out. Z on main 2 making sense now. Date: 03/26/15 22:58 Re: What? more new GEVOs? I'll be right there. Granite. Back to town sweet light framed the C&S and signal bridge. Until the train came. Date: 03/26/15 23:06 Re: What? more new GEVOs? I'll be right there. Author: SD45X Going away the sun peeked out.
Then the rock train arrived. And the second freight finally came to town. Now for a date with Outback......Which after a couple hours later we finished and stepped outside to watch the new GEVOs finally leave with their pickup. 4 1/2 hrs later..... Finis....
