Crandic slug set moving with pics
Author: SD45X

The MP15 CIC 133 and slug CIC 129 just arrived (1530 CT) Amarillo TX from Alliance TX. Anybody have info why it's so far from home? Shiny new looking.

Now with pics.

Broke off to get a pic of the RC-135 doing touch and goes. Hmmm no tail numbers.....

That's not an RC-135. That's an E-6B Mercury TACAMO aircraft.
The NAVY on the fuselage is a dead giveaway. The Navy doesn't have any RC-135's

The tanks on top of the slug are actually for a rail blower system.

How far off base would I be if I said this looks an awful lot like a Boeing 707?

Here we go again, turned in for taking pictures.

We are supposed to report strange incidents, and to some of us people chasing and taking photos of our trains is strange.

In today's age it doesn't hurt, and crews actually calling things in is better than the old attitude of the next guy will do it.

We don't run trains for the sole purpose of being subjects of your photos.

Why do crews feel compelled to comment on lawful activity ?

You're 100% correct.  Based off of the 707-320 according to it's Wikipedia entry:

The E-6 was the final derivative of the Boeing 707 to be built.

The last 707 airframe built was for a French Air Force E-3F AWACS.

Well obviously I'm not one of those who thinks it's strange, which is why I said some of us. Us being people who get paid to sit up there.

No it is a 707 frame.

The Boeing E-6 Mercury (formerly E-6 Hermes) is an airborne command post and communications relay based on the Boeing 707-320.

Cradic slug set CIC 133 & 129 are going to Etter, Texas, to work on the Texas North Western Railway.

This is part of Crandic's replacement power program.  These
slug sets are being replaced by newer sets with the bloody nose,
bloody awful if you ask me, paint scheme.  Supposedly, the
newer sets are more environmentally friendly.

Do you know where the OP was when the crew saw him? Could he have been on RR property? If he was on RR property did he have express permission to be on RR property?

I haven't been on an engine in almost a decade.  Is it in the rules now that the crews have to turn in photographers?

I will answer your question by saying to look at my question you are responding to. To clarify, it probably depends. If the OP was on RR property without permission that would be considered tresspassing and I am sure crews are told to report tresspassing and maybe that is what happened here.
