Does anyone know what they are doing single tracking from Sparks to Truckee Resurfacing?

Had a work crew replacing ties and doing other trackwork at Hirschdale last week.

Tie gang will be going all the way to Colfax on the #2 trk.

I at Newcastle now (Thursday morning) and just saw a westbound mixed freight (0935). Does anyone have a general idea of today's line up?

You can always count on a couple manifests leaving roseville between 1-4pm, usually long and heavy. There is also an eastbound stack train that leaves roseville around the same time.

By noon at Tunnel 18 there was WB freight and two unit local on MT 1 then a short intermodal west on MT 2. Then a grainless and AMTK #6 on MT 2.

Back to Tunnel 18 where the light is luscious. Please send one more WB soon.

It looks like miscreants added their rattle can filth to the west portal while I was grabbing a bite.

Memories to take home from CA.

Trash trackside, both from the railroad and civilians

Dirty restrooms in gas stations and even name brand chain restaurants.

Gas station windshield wash buckets with dirty water and no cleaning fluid mixed in.

Sensless painted vandalism.

I suppose all of this just spreads, there is not much hope for the rest of us, eh?
