Heads up, GMP1IV on the Brooklyn Sub
Author: 494

I don't think i've ever made two submissions to this website in a month's time before, let alone in a single day....

My second time seeing this symbol & not clear on the "P1" designation (UP uses "IV" for Fresno), any help with the UP/BNSF/CN origination point of this train would be appreciated.  Running 2x2 (CN 8819, IC 2701  x CN 2427, CN 8941) with 97 cars, the train is currently on the move through Clackamas at the time of this post...so heads up everybody points South for this oddball.
Shown below crossing the Steel Bridge in Portland earlier today.

Apperantly, "P1" continues to remain a mystery what that symbol stands for as I don't recall it ever getting answered the last time around.  I'm assuming it must mean some sort of Portland interchange with BNSF?

I think you are right.

I also agree with the use of 'P1' as an interchange symbol similar to the 'PT' designation for Lake Yard.  I may have poorly worded my original post, but what i'm curious about is the actual origin point of the train...for example possibly Saskatchewan & if so where.
It went South out of Portland as a GMP1IV, came into Portland as a BNSF symbol GVBTABN (CN interchange to UP interchange, note the UP crew took over at Lake Yard not Albina as evident from the photo), so where did it originate on the CN before heading to Thorton Yard?

Search feature here shows similar milled grain movements in the past that ran as CN G899 (Canora, Saskatchewan to Van BC), then headed South on the BNSF to Guernsey CA as a GVBTGUC...but i don't remember seeing this on the UP before the previous one ran in February.

It looks like the cars originate in Llodyminster, Alberta. They are interchanged to the BNSF at Thornton Yard, British Columbia (near Vancouver).
