Western Railroad Discussion > Huge Natural Gas Explosion near FresnoDate: 04/17/15 15:56 Huge Natural Gas Explosion near Fresno Author: Cupolau Approximaretly 200 yards east of UP's bridge over the San Joaquin River, construction workers , not railroad personnel, struck a gas line. All UP traffic has been temporarily halted until further inspection of bridge and neighboring rail line. Since I only live 2 miles from here I could see flames over 150 feet high. Just wondering if UP will reroute traffic over BNSF.

Date: 04/17/15 19:30 Re: Huge Natural Gas Explosion near Fresno Author: John Detours over the BNSF from Stockton to Fresno would be more likely if the exposion is north of Fresno, which seems likely since the BNSF is east of the UP north of Fresno and west of the UP south of Fresno.
Date: 04/17/15 21:32 Re: Huge Natural Gas Explosion near Fresno Author: jimB The San Joaquin River bridge is North of Fresno, near Herndon Ave.
Jim B Date: 04/17/15 22:32 Re: Huge Natural Gas Explosion near Fresno Author: CaliforniaSteam The UP Delfar salad shooter Z train, from the info I have received is rerouted over Tehachapi and then onto Las Vegas from Yermo. ... A train to my knowledge has never taken this route before.
CS Date: 04/17/15 22:39 Re: Huge Natural Gas Explosion near Fresno Author: CaliforniaSteam As far as the coast goes the intel I got is that tonights ZLCBR-18 is going to be detoured via the coast tonight due into San Luis Obispo around 9-10am. Thats the only train so far for the coast.
