Western Railroad Discussion > BNSF's O-GLSTOP This EveningDate: 04/17/15 21:40 BNSF's O-GLSTOP This Evening Author: bnsfsd70 Thanks to a timely heads up from MILW_E70, combined with nice(ish) weather and a free Friday night, I was able to get out tonight and photograph the BNSF #7218 heading up the O-GLSTOP on the homestretch of its journey.
Photo 1: After passing over the detector about half a mile to the east of here, the 7218 passes mp41 on the Topeka Sub, just a few miles west of Lecompton, KS. Photo 2: Once the L71 cleared up the main in front of him, the O-GLSTOP got on the move again in Topeka at the East Field. Here, it's seen crossing over Golden Ave. in the Oakland neighborhood. Photo 3: My final shot of the O-GLSTOP is as it temporarily blocked 4th St. in Topeka as the sun set behind the old Santa Fe Unclaimed Freight Building. Enjoy! - Jeff Carlson Date: 04/17/15 22:35 Re: BNSF's O-GLSTOP This Evening Author: TopCat Nice work, we've all said it before, it would look 10 times better with some "officer" locomotives :-) Maybe some Warbonnet F's or BNSF could revive two FP45's.

While I do agree it would be nice if BNSF had some 'special' power for officer trains at the same time I'm glad they don't have any of Santa Fe's FP45s. Because then they would be sporting that swoosh logo, I like those units to much to imagine them dressed in orange with a swoosh :-) (just my opinion) At least they had a fairly clean GE up front for this trip. Nice photos, Jeff. ~Ryan Posted from iPhone Date: 04/18/15 05:49 Re: BNSF's O-GLSTOP This Evening Author: bnsfsd70 Seconded.
Speaking of, as I was waiting on the L71 to move, I photographed an ex-GN SDP40 in the East Field storage. Now THAT would be a cool "heritage 40" revival, like NS is doing with their pair of N&W/SOU 40's. - Jeff TopCat Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Nice work, we've all said it before, it would look > 10 times better with some "officer" locomotives > :-) Maybe some Warbonnet F's or BNSF could > revive two FP45's. > > TopCat > > Posted from iPhone Date: 04/18/15 05:51 Re: BNSF's O-GLSTOP This Evening Author: bnsfsd70 Cajon92 Wrote:

They certainly run the gamut with them. - Jeff Date: 04/18/15 08:50 Re: BNSF's O-GLSTOP This Evening Author: PHall A FP45 in orange with a BNSF on it? No thanks...
