Obviously I didn't pay close enough attention to the news story, as I thought the explosion happened today. Therefore, I only looked through the threads posted today to see if the story had already been posted. Whoops! Thanks for listing the previous post, Daniel. You are johnny-on-the-spot!

I tried to delete this, since it is a duplicate post, but can't find a delete button. Are we no longer able to delete threads? Also, how long has the "share thread on Facebook" button been on TO?

Once someone replies to a thread you start, you can no longer delete it. If you reply to a thread, you can always delete that reply. The share to Facebook button was put on about a month ago when the servers were updated.

Interesting, Sat CBS World News had a the story, but only mentioned it was a natural gas fire, and then showed pictures of a crew trying to put out fires on the ties, If this had been a train wreak, the true source would have been all over the headlines.

The county never called 811 so that USA could mark the gas line.
So the county will be on the hook for ALL damages plus the PUC will probably hit them with a $10,000 fine for not calling.
Expect to see Fresno County's insurance rates to go up a lot...
