Western Railroad Discussion > Blue Bird and Top Hats leading Priority Cement TrainDate: 05/26/15 04:27 Blue Bird and Top Hats leading Priority Cement Train Author: RCPE_Hogger Monday Memorial day we ran a priority cement train from Rapid City, SD to Tracy, MN for interchange to Canadian Pacific with a final destination of St Paul, MN. The train made good time across the railroad, with four RCP&E "Blue & Gold" EMD SD40-2 units for power from Rapid City, SD to Huron, SD and after a power swap in Huron, a Blue Bird and two Top Hats from Huron, SD to Tracy, MN. I was the hogger on the Pierre, SD to Huron, SD leg of the journey. After tying up, I went to have lunch and ran some errands while waiting for the train to travel the 10mph track from Huron, SD to Cavour, SD; and sure enough I caught up to the train just as it was coming out of the 10mph track and accelerating to 40mph.

Train was loaded in Rapid City, SD and interchanged to Canadian Pacific in Tracy, MN with a destination of St Paul, MN. Not sure where it goes from there.
