Western Railroad Discussion > The Good Ol' GuadDate: 05/27/15 21:25 The Good Ol' Guad Author: walstib With the Pacific Ocean lapping up on the beach below, the Guadalupe Hauler heads south out of Carpinteria yesterday. The consist includes 11 empties, at least some of which the Guad picked up from Capitan on its way north Monday. They were used to transport pre-cast concrete bridge sections.

The cut-over from the original main was in 1969. I caught a trip up the coast and was the last train over the old main, and the next morning I was called for the first train to go over the new alignment. The old main went along the hill (on the trail you mentioned) and below was a nude beach. On the plus side of the realignment was we no longer had the crossing over hiway 101 on the east side (SP east that is). Actually this assignment works afternoons.. 200 pm on duty at Van Nuys and 200 pm at Guadalajara. As for the assigned power it runs al the way through from Colton to Gemco. On the return trip this power reutns to Colton after picking up the eastbound traffic at Gemco and Fourth street yard. Date: 05/28/15 18:39 Re: The Good Ol' Guad Author: PHall railhiss Wrote:
