Fire in the Sky
Author: Milw_E70

After a long day of photographing trains, most people head for the nearest beanery for some much needed comfort food after the sun has passed below the horizon. The diehards stick around until absolute last light and get rewarded with some beautiful sunsets, such as the following shot, taken one mile west of Cassoday, KS on 05/17/2015. In my case, it was after the robot caller decided it was time for me to go to work for an all night dogcatch on the Emporia Sub. I would later pass by this location later that night on a vehicle train to Wellington, but it sure didn't look this pretty from the cab...

Thanks for looking!

Great shot and a hard find to locate a crossbuck without a stop sign on it!

Cool, the quintessential Midwest shot... I like it a lot.

Reminds me of an Edward Hopper painting, which is a good thing! Nice photo!

That is one fantastic windmill shot! The cross buck balances the scene nicely. Thanks.

Beautiful colors, that'd make a great screen saver picture.
