Early Summer Around La Crosse WI
Author: rrartist

The sun has been out for the last two days allowing me the chance to get out and find a few trains starting with the CP 8912 , CP 298 meeting CP 471 near the Amtrak Depot here in La Crosse (WI). This morning dawned clear with CP 470, RCP&E 6401 rolling into town. we will see that train again for sure!

As CP 470 did it's yard chores I waited on the north end of the BNSF yard and caught the BNSF 8142 leading an empty grain train and the CSXT 8756 leading and empty oil can westward towards the Twin Cities. Due do a bridge fire/ derailment on the CN in northern Minnesota, CN 8813 leads CN 199 past the Amtrak Deport meeting the CP Road Switch.

Hearing via the scanner that CP 470 was ready to depart La Crosse for points east I headed to  Bangor WI for three CP train, RCP&E 6401 looking strangely CNW like and the NS 8006 leading CP 580 and lastly CP 2213 with G82's train.

After the three eastbounds has passed I motored over to Dakota MN for one more, CP 280 running behind the NS 2696, now it was time to head for home not before I caught the BNSF 773 and the BNSF 9058 acrosse the street from home. Have a SUPER rest for your week!

What's the high wide load on that BNSF 9058?

The high-wide looks to be the base for a large excavator, drag line, shovel, whatever.

I'm more curious as to the CN 199 detour.  Why is it down in La Crosse?  Surely they
would have to start detouring before the Twin Cities.
