Where is it?
Author: Kodachromedude

Try to guess location, including road in foreground.  Not too hard for folks who know me.

No, but perhaps that's a decent guess considering all the foliage.  Remember, this is posted in Western Railroad Discussion.

I'm thinking the Lake Oswego - Tigard, OR area, but can't quite place the exact location.

SP Tillamook branch, Lake Oswego to Cook. A-PB signals originally installed for the Portland Red Electric service. Bryant siding.

These signals were regular ABS.  The A-PB was Greton to Beburg.  This is not Bryant siding either.

Keep trying!

This is taken in the same spot, but looking the opposite direction.  Might help some people. :)

I'm not overly familiar with the area but I'm guessing Menefee looking "west" (SP's direction) on the Tillamook Branch.

Menefee was not in ABS territory.

Darn! I think I'm in the right neighborhood though. It appears that ABS started/ended somewhere around West Menefee and East Wilsonia, assuming this is even on the Tillamook Branch. I guess I'll just have to wait for the answer.

The signals didn't go beyond Wilsonia in the modern era.  In fact, they never were on the section beyond Wilsonia going through Menefee, Milwaukee and Willsburg Jct. They did however go up the Jefferson Street line, which of course was where the majority of traffic was in the Red Electric era.

Here's a big hint.  I took these shots when I was just a Lad.

Nice "hint"! I'd guess you were at Ladd. <G> I was using a 1971 ETT and it showed ABS extending through Wilsonia but wasn't sure if it made it to West Menefee (I am not familiar with the area).

I have to agree. I think its on the old Tillamook branch. There were a couple of stations between Wilsona MP 741 and Cook MP 748. The sidings between, Oswego MP 741.2, Ladd MP 744.6 and Bryant MP 747.5. My vote is Ladd

You guys got it! (with the help of a big clue)  It's Ladd, which disappeared from the timetable sometime around 1975.

Here's what the same location looks like today:

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Berwick+Rd,+Lake+Oswego,+OR+97034/@45.41631,-122.676212,3a,75y,268.14h,75.65t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sUMmjtWBo5EGHzrJNyIDsRQ!2e0!4m2!3m1!1s0x5495749e749d774f:0xb4aebf1ce14158ed

You can see it's really overgrown, partly due to lack of the pole line post-1989.

Ok, that explains why I couldn't place it. I was thinking these were more recent pics. I was only born in 1975.

Here's just to the (compass) east of Ladd on December 16, 1974 - I took the picture because I thought the block signals were odd for the SP.

I don't know when the pictures were taken, but based on the DTC block signs they would have to be 1985 or later.

I took these in the Fall of 1988. The ABS signals had less than 6 months to live and were torn out in Feb 1989.
