Depot Friday: Carrollton, TX
Author: BNSF-6432

Several weeks ago when we made a Dallas turn, we had a little time to kill and spent it in Carrollton, TX which was a neat setting for a railfan, where three different lines crossed (MKT, SSW, and SLSF) However only one is a mainline which is the BNSF. I didn't learn much about the area besides DNGO's yard was here at the junction.
I did capture the depot that was here, once serving MKT and Cotton Belt as Frisco only ran freight through the town. It appeared the depot was being restored inside. It'd be nice to go back and catch some short line action here.
If anyone has info to share about the town feel free

1) Looking at the depot, with a mini crossbuck for a bike trail crossing

2) Looking down the DGNO towards the interlocker across the BNSF and another shortline. Above is DART

3) Opposite side of the street was some DGNO power at the shop

In ancient times a tower once stood at this junction. Lomg since gone but until recently a local cafe once had a painting of it.

The depot was moved. It may have been moved for construction of the new commuter rail line.

The tower was Tower 77. More info can be found at:
