The Interests Keep Coming
Author: BNSF-6432

These past couple weeks have been quite the time around Tulsa, OK on the BNSF Cherokee, Avard, and Creek sub. Without any time to do much full day railfanning most of the action has been shot from evening outings. Some unexpected, such as going to 40 miles to Claremore at 18:30 to get one train (and tacos) The rest will be caption explained.

1) Eastbound TULLIN leaves Tulsa passing East Cherokee just after crossing the Arkansas River. Shot this past weekend

2) Same day, an eastbound stack train pulls up to East Tulsa with another former SOO SD60

3) But its just not a normal ex SOO,CEFX 6011 is lettered still for Indiana RR

4) A couple days ago after work a westbound with the usual shows up. Normally not something I'd shoot but the light was good and I had already waited over 40 minutes here at Madison Ave in Tulsa

5) Monday night, our evening 40 mile unexpected road trip was to catch this CSX westbound with a NS unit that gave us a very long horn show at Degroat Siding

6) Yesterday, a southbound oil train bound for Stroud, OK approaches mp429, just south of West Cherokee

7) The victom of a missing train, or so it seems as a light unit heads south on a mission to pick up cars somewhere on the Creek Sub, right behind the southbound oil train

8) And a UP detour? JECX coal train from St. Marys, KS comes westbound just past Trenton Ave. This happened to be a grab shot as we thought we already missed the train but as we headed home thinking we were empty handed, there it was just starting to roll in. The train also had BNSF DPUs, Any explination on this routing?

Very nice photos Patrick. Especially like the dramatic angle of # 1 & 2 and also the last one. Good work

#2. Likes.  It's pretty unusual to find non-BNSF power on stack trains around here, much less some ancient (relatively speaking) leasor like that SD60.

#4. We must shoot the "usual" or else in several years we won't remember what "usual" was.

Where did you shoot the UP powered coal train?  I like the "natural" look, just can't place where it is.
