Western Railroad Discussion > CSXT 3051 leading in high sun again..........Date: 07/02/15 17:24 CSXT 3051 leading in high sun again.......... Author: SP8595 ...................this time on the Moffat Tunnel line!
After making several round trips between Denver and Pueblo, of which JB caught them back on June 20th http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,3774628,3774628#msg-3774628, and then I shot the duo on June 25th in high Sun http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,3778429,3778429#msg-3778429, the CSXT 3051 and SP 177 were again paired up and doing the honors today leading the CWELH-01 (Coal-W. Elk Mine-Longhorn, TX) Eastbound down the Moffat Tunnel line towards Denver. I got a late start this morning and almost turned around when the train appeared stuck at Granby but when I heard the Disp. give track and time behind the CSXT 3051 up at Tolland, I made a mad dash up towards Pinecliffe. 1)I tried finding a different location then the usual spot at E. Cliff but with not much time to look around, I reluctantly settled on this spot of the engines heading through the 78 foot Tunnel #29. 2)The train for some reason was only doing 10 MPH down the hill so I easily beat it to Crescent but got hit with cloud cover. 3)Hiking up above Tunnel #1, I had planned on the Sun being blocked as there were clouds all around but nope, when I want clouds I got Sun and it was in fact even raining! Mike Date: 07/02/15 17:51 Re: CSXT 3051 leading in high sun again.......... Author: erielackawanna That first shot is lesson in how to make high sun work. Well done.
