Galesburg

I see that the camera is back on at Galesburg.  Why are they putting the track in front of the station? Will it connect to the north?  Is this for loading the passenger trains?  Also, how does the Quincy trains load?  From Google Earth I dont see a loading platform for that train.
Thanks.

Quincy trains use Main 2 at the station.   I believe it's the only track to/from the Brookfield Sub.

When the third main was re-installed, they added a connection from Main 2 to the Quincy Main west of the depot.  The depot track has been extended and was used for Railroad Days last weekend.  The Amtrak exhibit train was west of the depot while a BNSF GE and the Leviathan occupied east of the depot.  I believe it will remain a stub track.

*edit - Google's satelite view shows the new Amtrak connection for the Quincy Main.
