All new since the last time I was through there...1982 (?) chasing #3985.  Did you get any views in the 'narrows' part of town?

Stopped for a dip in the Springs a few years ago and the trains "ran like streetcars" while we soaked.

Great place to unwind in the winter, too. Good angle.  East of Lava, bear left where the Fish Creek highway goes over the hill and follow the OSL up through Bancroft.

I'll take a guess that you're now the proud owner of a drone.
Am I right Chris?

Couple of things I remember about Lava from my days on UP- the belly flop from the high dive and that eastbounds were all eyes right and westbounds were all eyes left. In my teen years it was the 3011 and the 5039 westbound right at the base of the hill that I recorded on an audio tape and that I still pop in a casette player every now and then.
