No injuries, power OK. Two trains stopped behind derailment as of right now! Look for re-routes to Sac sub. Valleyman Date: 07/29/15 16:22 Re: UP derailment Galt, CA 15:15 Author: obsessedfoamer 108, good day to be an engineer! Fog is creeping in here in the North Bay! Thank god.

But even a better day to be retired and living at the beach, where today it a whopping 77degrees. V SLOCONDR Date: 07/29/15 16:35 Re: UP derailment Galt, CA 15:15 Author: sphogger I like your style Virlon! Retired anywhere other than a locomotive cab or on the ballast. I've been enjoying the vintage Air Tanker air show going back and forth to the Wragg fire.
sphogger Date: 07/29/15 17:00 Re: UP derailment Galt, CA 15:15 Author: UPNW2-1083 Oh yeah guys, just rub it in some more. As of today I have exactly 6 months until I can retire...but who's counting. After 38 years it's time. As one fellow engineer told be recently; it's no fun anymore.-BMT

flies. Do a Virlon, take care of yourself and find a hobby! Out Date: 07/29/15 18:34 Re: UP derailment Galt, CA 15:15 Author: alamedafrank Retired is better, my 43 years no longer even seem real, but my memory is jolted by the excellent photos on Trainorders.com. Today's "UP around the bay" was especially moving; the last picture at Shinn was beautiful!

Only miss the comradery of fellow workers, but we have that on TO. Don't miss work, lol!
Larry Date: 07/30/15 15:19 Re: UP derailment Galt, CA 15:15 Author: switchlamp I have 3 months of retirement now after 39 years with SP and the yellow dream machine. Just finished riding my horse in a thunderstorm up here and now heading off to dinner and a movie. I don't miss that stinky cab one bit. I get all the updates from friends still at Mojave and it makes retirement all the sweeter ! OK , back to the derailment post , wait ! Who cares ?
