Smoke and Clouds on the BNSF
Author: Ritzville

It was a warm day in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub with a high-low of 88-64. Smoke was still in the air, but not as bad as the last couple of days along with clouds today. Traffic was it's usual light self  for a Monday, but the flood gates are opening up now that it's past 4pm for a busy evening. Here are some of the trains from last evening and today so far. Lots of haze in the pictures due to smoke in air.

1. WB 540pm grain train with BNSF 4336-4975 on the point and DPU.
2. WB 553pm manifest train with BNSF 8065-5037 on the pull.
3. WB 706pm intermodal train with BNSF 4156-4532-6887 on the point .

There was a fire next to the BNSF track at Indian Canyon in Spokane on the Columbia River Sub. It's out now, but a transient camp is the suspected location for the start of the fire.

As I remember they were all CP cars with some kind of coil on the cars.

Smoke in Ritzville was't as thick today, but still in the hazy air.

Miralomarail,

I believe those are CP coil cars..   I've seen them in UP's Albina Yard in Portland.

Nice photos Larry. Glad the smoke is somewhat clearing out.
