U.P. Pass train.

Just saw the UP passenger train in all it's glory flying low through Rochelle EB. Regular road power, not the E units on the point. What are they up to this time??

I would venture to guess this is just a normal Office Car Special or Engineering Special, whichever term you prefer - nothing too out of the ordinary. Most of these trains (on the UP anyways) run with cleaned up road power, as the Es/DD40 don't leave Cheyenne much. Likely going to spend the night in Proviso or one of the Global yards.

Up Biz train PG4SL1 06, will be departing G4 at 0600 on Thursday morning with the engines 8810 and 8218 and 17 biz cars. Due at Bloomington, IL 0711, Springfield/Ridgley 0833 and St. Louis at 1130. Times subject to change as always.
