Western Railroad Discussion > Santa Fe GP60M #135 Warbonnet In Boise, Idaho TodayDate: 08/27/15 13:15 Santa Fe GP60M #135 Warbonnet In Boise, Idaho Today Author: philhoov I posted on these engines a few days ago after seeing them hiding under the Kings Road overpass in Nampa, Idaho last weekend.
I couldn't get a shot Sunday due to poor lighting, then I went back Monday and couldn't find them. By sheer luck, I walked out of a meeting this morning near the Boise local track and heard a train. When I turned around to look, the same three engines I saw in Nampa last weekend were trundling eastward, headed for MPI on the other side of Boise. I gave chase, easily outrunning the train, and got the following shots. #1 - Boise Local with two BNSF pumpkins and the rare Santa Fe (BNSF) GP60M #135 original Warbonnet trailing. #2 - Going away shot with the three MPI-bound engines trailing. #3 - Santa Fe GP60M Warbonnet on the tail end of the Boise local. This has to be a very rare catch with a Santa Fe GP60M Warbonnet in original (good!) paint in UP territory in Boise, Idaho! I can just barely see it in photo 2, it doesn't look like Boise Valley blue.
