Schneider Trucking

In posting the top ten trucking list I noticed Schneider was No 2 TL, No 7 Temperature control and NO 10 bulk carrier

Not bad for a carrier who started hauling paper from Wisconsin

Looks like they haul all Dollar General stuff out our way (NorCal).

Seemed to have tapered off with intermodal about ten years ago, then made a huge comeback.   More containers than trailers though.   Also don't be fooled if you see orange Wabash trailers on the BNSF.   Many or most are ex-Schneiders w/o the new owner's graphics.

That is contract hauling. Big retail/warehouse companies contract out their transporation deparment. Macys distribution center here in City of Industry has been through 4-5 different trucking companies in the last 20-25 years.

Several truck lines using old Schneider trailers, with Tytan Trucking being one of the big users. And correct on the other users just having four-letter ids with nothing else showing on the trailers. Also seeing a lot of ex-Knight/CRST trailers with just the four-letter ids as well. Don't know who those truck lines are.
