BNSF Pikes Peak Local Palmer Lake . . .
Author: 3rdswitch

.  .  .  after being alerted to the fact that the twice a week BNSF Pikes Peak Local that runs between Denver and a few miles south of Colorado Springs on the joint UP BNSF Denver Pueblo main still had the exSOO now CEFX leasor as half it's power and it had turned, made sure I kept my eye out for it's northbound return trip to Denver today grabbing a quick shot at Palmer Lake with it's short one car train. This is about the same times it used to run years ago mid day south on Mondays and Thursdays and morning north on Tuesday and Friday, must have a new crew or someone new in managed ment getting them going.

I think you could call that a "water haul".

Nice grab! I'm almost positive that I saw the local hauling that same boxcar South on Thursday! Sure looks like a money making train:}

If it's an empty from Acme Brick in Castle Rock then they had to bring it with them south before taking back to Denver.
