Western Railroad Discussion > BNSF Mainline Interlocking QuestionDate: 09/01/15 09:02 BNSF Mainline Interlocking Question Author: CSXT_8437 Good Afternoon:
Are there any diamonds on the former Santa Fe between Chicago and Los Angeles where BNSF does not control the interlocking? How about on the northern route betwren Chicago and Seattle? Thank you in advance. Date: 09/01/15 10:06 Re: BNSF Mainline Interlocking Question Author: DivergingClear Joilet (former UD tower) in Illinois comes to mind for the Santa Fe part of the question. Until recently, when the tower was in service, the interlocking was controlled by Metra (formerly Rock Island). A recent Trainorders post indicates that BNSF can now line trains through the interlocking themselves, assuming there isn't a conflicting movement already lined over the diamond.
