Yesterday, October 2, the special was on the Moffat. The fall colors at the high elevations of Union Pacific's Moffat Tunnel Subdivision are starting to wane. Many of the bright leaves have blown off and this weekend's winds and rain might finish them. There was still some color left as the eastbound BNSF business train passed an eastbound loaded coal train in the siding at Tolland, Colorado. As common in the high country, the weather changes quickly. The sun was shining minutes before, but now it is raining lightly. Photo by Joe McMillan.
