Hy-Rail in the hole for Amtrak Heritage 822
Author: PALuvR

I checked out N. Bergstrom on the UP Austin Sub yesterday morning at the start of my Wednesday grocery run. A Hy-Rail was in the siding awaiting NB Amtrak #22 with Heritage unit 822. About an hour later, along came a NB Z-train with EMD power. Cemex loads out of Dittlinger followed, having to stop awaiting a clear signal. Power was a pair of ex-SP C44AC's, one still in SP paint.

1. Comin' around
2. NB in the morning sun
3. Getting those cement loads moving again.

Having run my errands, I headed back out around noon to Manchaca, MP 190 where I caught another NB "Z" and an empty grain train.

I appreciate y'all taking a look.

Mike

4-5. Power for the Z-train included a C44/60AC with the "We will deliver" logo
6. SD70M leading a C44AC on this empty grainer
