WP Heritage unit on the Austin Sub
Author: PALuvR

Only saw three trains today but all were of special interest. Actually, all trains, even the most mudane, are interesting to me. But these were out of the ordinary.

Last train this afternoon but the subject of the thread was UP 1983 leading the ALDMQ-23. It had left San Antonio at 11:34 and took 4 hours to travel the 53 miles to Manchaca (TX) at MP190.
The first shot of the morning was the RDTF1C-23 which was cement loads out of the Cemex plant at Dittlinger. Leader was UP 6727 which is the ex-CNW 8825.
The next train through was a grain empty GS3DJO-22 (Laredo,TX to St. Joseph,MO). Leading was a standard cab NS C40-9 ( or D9-40C if you prefer).

The sun was not my friend on that NS shot. Thought the train would never come and it didn't until 13:50 with the sun high overhead.

I appreciate y'all taking a look.

Mike

Thanks to both of you. That's my first time to have seen it. Still haven't seen the CNW Heritage unit yet.
