Western Railroad Discussion > What A Difference A Day MakesDate: 11/23/15 15:54 What A Difference A Day Makes Author: Ritzville It went from sunny to frozen fog in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub with a high-low of 29-21. Everything is flocked white around the area. With the foggy condition, made it rough on picture taking and with the cold temperatures make it tough to be outside while still under the weather. The fog was pea soup until 1030am and then again at 315pm. Traffic was so-so today and all Orange. There was one Warbonnet, but too foggy to snap a picture. Here are the few I was able to catch today.
1. EB 1019am manifest train with BNSF 6851-6818 on the point in the fog. 2. WB 1049am manifest train with BNSF 4544 on the very point in the fog. 3. Another shot of BNSF 4544. Date: 11/23/15 15:57 Re: What A Difference A Day Makes Author: goneon66 isn't it great having a r.r. in your backyard? i know i like it. thanks for letting me see what that part of the bnsf looks like........
66 Date: 11/23/15 16:07 Re: What A Difference A Day Makes Author: Ritzville 4. WB 1111am ballast work train with green BN 1412 and BNSF 2645 on the pull rolling into Ritzville for some switching.
5. Another shot of BN 1412 and BNSF 2645. 6. Switching maneuver in the backyard by same train. Date: 11/23/15 16:16 Re: What A Difference A Day Makes Author: Ritzville 7. Another shot of BNSF 2645.
8. WB 106pm "Z" train with BNSF 6695 on the very point on approach to Bauman Rd., Ritzville. 9. Same train at Bauman Rd. Date: 11/23/15 16:24 Re: What A Difference A Day Makes Author: Ritzville 10. Same "Z" train taking signal 641 on a high green.
11. The End of same train fading away towards downtown Ritzville. 12. WB 128pm grain train with BNSF 6528-6678 on the point with DPU. Date: 11/23/15 16:34 Re: What A Difference A Day Makes Author: Ritzville 13. DPU BNSF 8284 pushing same grain train.
14. EB 243pm manifest train with BNSF 7067-8065-7004 on the pull. 15. Point power on EB 410pm stack train floating thru the blur of the fog at 27 degrees. I thought the picture looked as cold as it was outside, lol. That's it for this frozen fog day! Hope everyone has a great evening and tomorrow! Thanks so much for looking! Thanks for your support. Larry Date: 11/23/15 16:44 Re: What A Difference A Day Makes Author: stevelv Larry you've been getting some serious weather up there lately. In a couple of photos it was hard to tell the difference betwen todays fog and that massive dust storm you had last week.
Steve B. In usually tranquil Henderson, NV although we do get occasional extreme heat and dust storms almost as bad as yours. Date: 11/23/15 16:54 Re: What A Difference A Day Makes Author: EMDSW-1 What's up with pulling up the spur to the team track...always see lots of m of w equipment parked there?
Dick Samuels Date: 11/23/15 16:54 Re: What A Difference A Day Makes Author: SCKP187 Nice catches in the weather which seems to reach extremes in either direction. Just noticed, guess I didn't realize your 2 team tracks were coming out?
Brian Stevens Date: 11/23/15 17:03 Re: What A Difference A Day Makes Author: Ritzville I believe they are replacing the rail, but not sure yet. With all the MOW activities and equipment stored in Ritzville, I would thinks they would restore the team tracks. I'll have to ask someone what's going on there.
