Western Railroad Discussion > UP Close & Personal ~ UP 6369 (Patched SP)Date: 11/23/15 16:33 UP Close & Personal ~ UP 6369 (Patched SP) Author: philhoov It's fairly common to see patched SP motors running around the UP.
But, it's unusual to be able to (legally) be within 30 feet of one without trespassing or photographing through a fence, or watching for security to arrive. This former SP #323 engine was parked on the deepest siding in the east end of the UP Nampa, Idaho yard (near the King Road overcrossing) yesterday, alongside a public roadway, just beggine me to take my time getting to know her. I resisted the temptation to shoot the other side, as that would have been trespassing and lacking good lighting. Interestingly, this engine was coupled to two other engines, including the UP #8888 that I posted on a couple of days ago. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/23/15 16:35 by philhoov. And, thanks too for your frequent contributions to TO! I used to live in Coeur d'Alene and I frequently passed by Ritzville before I finally moved to Boise. Wish I had taken more time to check it out vs. just racing by on the freeway and taking the 395 offramp. Back then, most of my railfanning was in the Idaho Panhandle. Phil Hoover Edited 1 time(s).
