Western Railroad Discussion > Potash fail, Amtrak score

So with the advice of some members I was hoping to catch and follow the Potash Train from Crescent Junction to Potash, but I never saw that train in my travels from the west or down to Potash on Sunday. But I did manage to catch an eastbound Amtrak in the area.

Too bad that was not the WB, then it would have had # 5 on # 5

I think the first shot was west of Crescent Junc. and the second was the first off-ramp, miles to the east. The train was doing 80 mph, but certain areas it slowed quite a bit. Right after my last shot it slowed to a crawl, not sure what it was doing as I didn't see any trains to the east. Bummed I missed the Potash, but such is life. Moab is still entertaining me though ;-) This last shot as it passed me for the last time.

AGREED....!!

I was down the canyon again today and noticed the train had ran between noon Sunday and today. Shame I missed it, but I get the Durango & Silverton tomorrow for 4 days.
