Western Railroad Discussion > Winter Has Arrived In The Upper Columbia Basin BURR!

It went back to sunny, very cold and windy(25-40mph) in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub with a high-low of 34-24 with an Artic Blast the rest of the week. Today's weather made it tough to be trackside with all the snow along the road. Traffic was fairly steady at times and mostly all Orange. Here are some of the trains that rolled by the backyard and beyond. I definately had frost on my nose while outside, lol.

1. EB 939am autorack with BNSF 7718 on the very point.
2. EB 1126am "Z" train with an Orange Blast on the pull.
3. WB 1146am "Z" train with BNSF 8134 on the very point.

4. EB 1159am grain train with BNSF 4021-5277 on the point with DPU.
5. EB 158pm manifest train with BNSF 5340-7632-5303 on the pull with DPU at Bauman Rd., Ritzville in the cold harsh sunlight.

7. DPU BNSF 8285 fading away towards CP W. Tokio.
8. Same manifest train making a meet with WB grain train at CP W. Tokio.
9. WB 208pm grain in the hole at CP W. Tokio giving a roll-by to EB manifest with a friendly wave from the conductor.

10. WB 232pm grain train with BNSF 7975 on the very point with DPU's and friendly toot-toots from the hogger.
11. BNSF 486114  Burlington Route Heritage Hopper rolling in same train.
12. DPU's CREX 1212 and BNSF 5271 pushing same grain train.

13. WB 247pm oil train with BNSF 7430-4455 on the pull with DPU's.
14. WB 302pm grain train with BNSF 8236-5001 on the point with DPU's.
