TBT: 2006 Part 1 UP 844 heads east and so do I
Author: NH2006

I think I posted several of these back then but wanted to revisit it with better images.  Summer of 2006 was time to visit the midwestern families.  I drove solo Colorado to Wisconsin but lucked out with 844 leaving Cheyenne just as I did.  In shots 2-3, beat them to Pine Bluff, WY.

4-6. Got to stay a couple hours in Dubuque, IA.  It was a reasonably busy day on the CN-IC.

8-9. Got some ICE Blue & yellow too, luckily understood my scanner as they barely made a sound.

Part 2 is on the Eastern Board:

Nice shots - I have never seen sunshine at Dubuque, I have been there a half-dozen times on my way somewhere else, and it was always raining and on two occasions storming so bad I didn't even stop! === === = === JLH

Great look back to a better time with steam and those CN/IC lashups. And to think it's been 9 years
