Western Railroad Discussion > 62-year-old GRSX 112 still pulling yard dutyDate: 05/03/16 17:15 62-year-old GRSX 112 still pulling yard duty Author: JoCoLB It's taken me a long time, but I finally managed to get some pictures today of GRSX 112, a 62-year-old GP 9 locomotive, that serves Greenbrier Rail Services at the switch yard in Osawatomie, Kan. The engine was moving a small cut of cars at the east end of the yard when I arrived on the scene.
When I checked on this engine unit in the past, it has usually been buried somewhere in the yard, not suitable for any decent photos. This engine was orginally a SOO Line locomotive, No. 2406. I think it later had a couple of other owners before Greenbrier. (Photos by Larry Byers) Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/03/16 17:17 by JoCoLB. I can be corrected on this. Nick Tharalson, Marion, IA |
