Ohio Crane on BNSF Mixed Freight Train
Author: Agent

On April 19, I caught a BNSF mixed freight train as it headed eastward past Agency, Iowa.  The train was headed from Des Moines, Iowa to West Quincy, Missouri (DMOWQM).  On the end of it was an Ohio-built Burlington Northern crane.  It was marked BN 961566.  I can't remember seeing one of these pass through here before.

Thanks for the shot of the crane. Always neat to see something different. Reminds me of the crane (with tracks) that sat on a flat car for what seemed like almost five years here in Pleasantville before  a train finally picked it up.

Thanks again

Mark

Three cranes just arrived in Duluth a few days ago from Spokane and Pasco. It is believed that they are bound for IPS in Duluth for rebuilding. Perhaps this crane is bound for the same destination. It would make no sense to ship a crane a long distance just to scrap it.
