Western Railroad Discussion > Some questions about CORP in EugeneDate: 05/04/16 13:27 Some questions about CORP in Eugene Author: tmrail I'll be spending some time in Eugene later this week, and I was wondering if anyone has any specific tips about CORP's operations there. Do they operate on a predictable schedule into and out of Eugene? Where is the CORP engine facility located?
Thanks! Tom Date: 05/04/16 14:47 Re: Some questions about CORP in Eugene Author: coosbaytoday Sometimes the inbound CORP train arrives in Eugene around noon. Then sometime later, the outbound train leaves. They arrive/depart up to 7 days a week. Normally has UP power, can find their enginehouse off Garfield St. in the UP yards. There can be one of thier units at Creswell, on Hwy 99 about 15 miles south of Eugene.
Your mileage may vary... Good luck Here are three links to some pictures around Eugene and on the CORP Siskiyou line to the south. Is this traffic just added to the QPWRV now?
Date: 05/04/16 21:06 Re: Some questions about CORP in Eugene Author: coosbaytoday Correct, they don't split the train at Springfield Jct.any more. At least I have not seen them do that for years.
Here are two pictures from April 18, 2015 showing the CORP train at Springfield Jct. and the helpers (DPU's?)shoving on the rear. They are coming off the CORP Siskiyou line. Todd M. Date: 05/05/16 07:18 Re: Some questions about CORP in Eugene Author: tmrail Thanks for the info!
Tom Date: 05/05/16 07:47 Re: Some questions about CORP in Eugene Author: callum_out Looks a lot like the down train out of Norfolk (NE) on the Nebraska Central, UP power, local crews, UP crew
gets on at the edge of their track. Future it seems. Out Date: 05/05/16 10:08 Re: Some questions about CORP in Eugene Author: jimB You didn't mention Portland & Western, but this GP9 is worth a photo, at Roosevelt Rd just East of Hwy 99 near the UP yard.
