Western Railroad Discussion > UP 2169 Fresh!Date: 05/24/16 12:26 UP 2169 Fresh! Author: sp8192 My friend took this pic a couple days ago down at the service track at North Little Rock. UP 2169 is fresh out of Jenks with a flag included! I think this may be the first SD60M with a flag? I think it looks sharp! Please forgive him, he forgot to put the pole filter on his camera...

I agree about the lower red stripe. Believe me U.P. fought hard to try and keep it. The Federales told the Railroad it will either be white or yellow for visibility issues... Amtrak still uses red. Why does the color matter as long as it is reflective? I would think red would convey MORE of an urgency than yellow or white at night time?

Find a red scotchlite that meets the Feds reflectivity standards and UP may be able to use it. No one has found one yet... Date: 05/24/16 19:34 Re: UP 2169 Fresh! Author: tomstp May not meet feds desire but, at night with car headlights on em there is no mistaking them.
