Hi friends,
the KYLE Limon turn headed west from
# 1 - Seibert via
# 2 - Flagler and
# 3 - along I - 70 at State Rte. 36
It was e great day for us to catch this twice a week train at various locations.

Yes, ex-Rock Island between Goodland, Kansas, and Limon, Colorado.  Here's a look back to June 8, 1997 when Kyle RR operated 5821, U30C, ex-Burlington Northern, at Goodland, Kansas.

Sehr Gut Phil. Great photos of a once mighty route of the Rock Island. I love the composure of your second photo with the deactivated signal. It sort of tells the story.

Nice catch. In early sixties my wife lived in Kanorado, KS (right on the KS CO border) and once a month her and big sister would ride this route on the "Rocket" from Burlington to Denver to get braces adjusted. The schedule allowed a very early morning westbound departure from Burrville (the locals name for Burlington) to Denver, a bus ride to dentist, lunch at Rexall drug then back to Denver US and Rocket back to Burlington probably at seventy nine mph as opposed to KYLE's 10 - 30 mph speed.
