Wait, Wait, Wait, Bingo
Author: walstib

First, the sun was too high, so I waited.

Then clouds moved in, so I waited for them.

Rain came next, and I waited still longer.

Clouds followed the rain, and you guessed it, more waiting.

Then, 58 minutes before sunset, the clouds miraculously parted and this westbound stack train was bathed in sweet afternoon light as it rolled across the Pecos River.

No sooner than did this train pass and suddenly, as quickly as it appeared, the light was gone for the day. The next train was in the shade.

Sometimes you eat the bear and other days the bear eats you.  Looks like the wait was worth it and you had bear steak.

I had a beautiful day a few months back and looked forward to trying to get a sunset/silhouette shot.  I got in position about an hour early.  It was going to be a great evening.  Well, it was, until the clouds developed just a few minutes before the sun set.  I guess it was OK.  The train didn't show up that evening either.
