With Amtrak running over eight hours late, I figured it would be a good day to go for a hike along one of the rock formations near Crozier Canyon. I got luck to get up there a little bit after sunrise to catch the fleet of westbound trains they would send through before closing the westbound main for track work. From perch on top of these rocks, I had a good view of seeing the trains coming out of Crozier Canyon before they rounded the curve to join Route 66. I caught three westbounds before Amtrak showed up. Unfortunately, they closed the westbound main after the second westbound. So, all the eastbounds I was hoping to catch got held in Kingman as they single-tracked from Valentine to Walapai. 

1- The Q ALTSBD6 emerges out of Crozier Canyon.
2- Same train passing  through the rock cut. 
3- The V KCKSBD1 passes through Valentine. In the background, you have the Music Mountains to the left, and Laughing Jack Point on the right.

4- Amtrak #3 coming out Crozier with Laughing Jack in the background.
5- Rounding the curve of the Crozier Depot and the homestead
6- Finally, the train with the plateaus.

Do you have a closer picture of that little yellow structure with the red roof?  Hard to tell what it is, but it looks like it might be a former bunkhouse for the section crew. 

Very nice shots!  I like #3 the best.
