Grain Train to Ord, NE
Author: twjurgens

We had heard that there would be a grain empty headed up to Ord from Grand Island, NE Monday so thought this would be a good opportunity to get some shots on Nebraska Central.  The unit trains are usually handled with UP power but there was a good chance we'd see some NCRC red to boot! UP6674 and 5902 were leading when the train left GI around 11:15 AM (dpu was 5619).  The first 3 shots are of the train leaving Grand Island.  Fellow Lincoln Railfan's Club member, Joel Poland seems to be enjoying his job!

2 more shots follow

The 4th shot was taken alone the Loup River near North Loup and the final shot is at Ord where the Cargill switcher is waiting to load the train.
