Western Railroad Discussion > UP 844 Returns to DenverDate: 07/21/16 13:36 UP 844 Returns to Denver Author: es44fan After a few years of the UP E9s pulling the CFD Train, UP 844 finally returned to Denver pulling the 2016 Cheyenne Frontier Days Train. Like many others did today, I ventured out to the UP Greeley Sub to grab 844 this afternoon. Even with 844 being the star of the show and the main reason for driving out to the Greeley Sub, it was a nice sight to also see UP 1989 as the helper unit for the CFD Train instead of UP 6936. I look forward to the big Saturday run and I’m sure I’ll see some of you out there. Happy 844 hunting!!

Date: 07/21/16 14:30 Re: UP 844 Returns to Denver Author: LarryB We can all say what we want about the current steam team, UP, etc., but nowhere else in the entire world will you see a classier train than that. The fact that UP has kept and maintained that passenger car fleet is incredible. Kudos to UP!
Thanks for the post. Date: 07/21/16 14:41 Re: UP 844 Returns to Denver Author: mojaveflyer Nice video! The thing that struck me as I watched your video as the train passed was how the sunlight glinted off the domes of the cars as they passed... Very nice effect!

If he was a UP employee, i.e. the Pilot Engineer, he had better NOT have any sort of camera as that would be an FRA violation.
