D-Cam Down
Author: ross

D-Cam seems to be having some fits this summer! Shasta Sub has been running trains all day, yet none have been captured by the cam.

I've been in Dunsmuir all morning and only heard a single train. Nothing looks to be line according to ATCS.

The last train was yesterday, at about 11:30 AM.

I believe it did miss one train, the UP 8228 which led a southbound manifest through Dunsmuir this morning. There has been a herzog train working the line, creating large work windows and few trains during daylight.

I'll go get it re-booted, it was due.
Looks like it missed the morning Z and Amtrak, although if they are really on time it would be before the camera 'window'. There's something coming around the corner right now, maybe the work train (turned out to be a Pettibone with a water tank on a track dolly).
For those monitoring on the RR Feed, note that the Detector at MP330.3 is out of service due to the MoW work. The work train seemed to be busy around Black Butte junction today, not sure where they went. They tied up around 1 pm and were looking for a ride. Late last night they were running trains like streetcars, including a flat car train of small MoW equioment. The Herzog train met the NB Z at the depot, once again after 8 pm so no video.

Thanks! now we just need some trains to test it out. Looks like the usual northbounds are approching but MOW forces have been working between Dunsmuir and Mott and also Gray Rocks to Lakehead. Not sure when they will be cleared up for the night.

The ZLCBR is past Lamoine and called for 18:00. Probably will be the first northbound. They also have a MRVEU called that is parked maybe in the yard. Others out there include the MRVHK past Delta, the IOATAR which is parked at Castle Crag, the MRVPWW past Gray Rocks, and another MRVEU past Redding. That is just the northbounds. Nothing southbound for now. The first will be the QPWRV that has been parked at Klamath Falls all day.

Well it looks like the camera is back online again. It just got the MRVEU making a setout in the yard of some cars with new ties. The rest of the train must still be tied down in the yard to the south of the camera. The ZLCBR is past Conant and should be there shortly.
